About the herb
A root that asks for a simmer.
Lifted in the second autumn, sliced and dried hard so it wants a proper simmer. Elecampane is a chest herb above all, taken through the winter for a stubborn cough and a tight chest.
Sharply aromatic and genuinely bitter, with a camphor note underneath that surprises people. Best blended, or taken small.

Water at full boilPour 8 to 10 oz over the root.

EveningsThrough the cold months. A cough is worse lying down, so an evening cup is the useful one.
